Montreal police have announced the arrest of what they believe to be the final suspect in a spate of over 100 burglaries committed around Villeray last fall.

Mario Régnier was arrested January 21 and appeared in court the next day to face charges of charges of burglary, receiving stolen goods and possession of burglary tools.

The burglaries took place between October and December 2014.

"Many residents were reassured after we made the first of arrests but I'm still proud to officially announce this one last arrest, allowing us to close the file on over 100 burglaries," said Station 31 Commander Sylvain Parent.
