Organizers are offering $500 and up to 20 projects to fill a temporary village that will last for two months on a vacant piece of land just east of the Jacques Cartier Bridge.

The field, used as a snow-dump in the winter, will host a variety of activities such as sports, an outdoor theatre, beach, garden, art installations, cultural pavilions, food trucks and even a bar.

It will be free for visitors to enter.

Organizers say that they will be open to a wide-variety of suggestions for installations.

Applications will be accepted until May 18 and the village is slated to open on June 20 and close near the end of August.

The village is organized by the Association of Urban Design Quebec (ADUQ), which created a similar project at the Peel Basin last summer.
