Although the city reported gun violence was down this year compared to 2021, Montreal's homicide rate in 2022 was the highest it's been in 15 years.
It's a trend seen in other jurisdictions as well, with the Sûreté du Québec also marking a higher number of killings in their territory this year compared to the previous year.
