Transportation Quebec starts a brand new roadwork project on Monday that is projected to last until November.

Starting Monday Aug. 7, construction crews will be repaving Highway 20 in both directions between Highway 13 and St. Pierre Ave.

The ministry will also use the opportunity to alter the entrance from 1st Ave. to Highway 20 West, extending the onramp all the way to the Norman St. exit.

Once that's done, trucks coming from the industrial neighbourhood in the area won't have to enter the highway at all, which officials hope will speed up traffic, especially during rush hour.

Multiple lanes, sometimes every lane, will frequently be closed in both directions at night. Entrances and exits between Highway 13 and St. Pierre Ave. will also often be closed.
