LONDON -- Canada's Milos Raonic has advanced to the men's semifinals at Wimbledon with a 6-7, 6-2, 6-4, 7-6 (4) win over Australian qualifier Nick Kyrgios.

It's the first Grand Slam semifinal appearance for Raonic, who finished Kyrgios off with an ace after the Australian had saved three match points in the fourth-set tiebreaker.

Raonic will face Swiss star Roger Federer in the semifinals.

Earlier, Canada's Eugenie Bouchard advanced to her third straight Grand Slam semifinal with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Angelique Kerber.

Bouchard will have Romania's Simona Halep in the semis.

"It's great to have that sort of a win," said Raonic following the match.

"It's another step forward, the goal is to be the best player in the world and this is one of those steps I have to take to keep getting better."

"It's going to be a great challenge and one that I"m going to really relish," said Raonic of his upcoming match against Federer.
