Dozens of people – friends, family and even perfect strangers – have joined the search for a Lorraine man, missing since Monday.

Emilio Stinziani hasn’t been seen since the morning of Aug. 10 when a neighbour saw him leave his house, according to his son Michael.

The 56-year-old man works from home and likes to go for walks in the wooded areas in his neighbourhood during the day.

His family is afraid he had a medical emergency while on one of those walks and was hurt, then wandered into unfamiliar territory. His car, wallet and bank cards are still at his home. They're asking area residents to look out for him.

"He was borderline diabetic, but that was two years ago, we're kind of nervous now that he got diabetes he has a seizure and he's disoriented some way," said Michael.

Police and family members have combed the area looking for him to no avail. Police have also gone door-to-door showing people his photo and sent divers into a nearby basin to search for his body, but nothing.

Stinziani stands 1.68 metres (5’6”) and weighs 99 kilograms (220 lbs). He is of average physical health but does have asthma.

Anyone with information about Stinziani’s whereabouts is asked to call the Ste. Therese de Blainville police force at 450-435-2421 and cite file number RTB-150811-006.

If he's not found this weekeend, police plan to set up a command post in the area.
