Several fires broke out in Montreal overnight, and at least one of them was deliberately set.
The first fire broke out in Pierrefonds just before midnight in what is an obvious case of arson.
Firefighters arrived at a grocery store on Sources Blvd. near Pierrefonds Blvd. to find a smashed window and a fire raging.
They doused the flames, and found evidence that someone had broken the window and hurled a Molotov cocktail into the building.
Nobody was hurt, but damage was significant.
Fire started in LaSalle garage
The second fire of the night began around 5:50 a.m. in Lasalle.
Fire broke out in the basement garage of a duplex, and quickly spread to the roof and adjoining buildings.
Several buildings in the row of houses were evacuated but it does not appear that anyone was injured.
15 to 20 people were affected by the three-alarm blaze.
The cause is not yet known, but investigators on the scene Tuesday morning are trying to determine the cause.
Possible arson at RDP café
Meanwhile a third fire began at 6:15 a.m. in Riviere des Prairies under suspicious circumstances.
Several windows of the Café Redrum Bar were smashed and it appears a fire was deliberately started inside the building on Maurice Duplessis Blvd. and 41st Ave.
Firefighters extinguished the flames fairly quickly, and the police arson squad was on the scene within the hour.
