There are new details in the attempted murder of a man in Laval on Monday.

Explosives have been found inside the Chomedey home where the 39-year-old man was gunned down.

He's still in hospital in stable condition.

Laval police say they found sticks of dynamite in the house, which is owned by defence lawyer John Pepper Jr., who has represented prominent clients such as Olympian Myriam Bedard.

A media report says Pepper was the victim's lawyer.

Several other people were inside the home at the time of the shooting, and the suspect fled the scene.
