A woman has died following a collision between an SUV and a train in the community of St. Telesphore, west of Montreal.
The collision happened at 3 a.m. Monday on Route 325 / Grand Cote Rd.
Police said the barriers at the street-level crossing were lowered but for some reason the car was on the tracks when it was struck by the train.
Paramedics rushed the woman to hospital but she died of her injuries.
The Sureté du Quebec is trying to determine if the woman drove around the barriers, or if her vehicle had stalled while on the tracks.
