Alouettes superstar Anthony Calvillo hoisted the Grey Cup at Cedarcrest Elementary School in St. Laurent Monday for some excited young fans.

The teachers at the school were just as excited as the students, said principal Rania Delis.

"The students are extremely excited just as is the staff," said Delis. "I think we all want to touch the Grey Cup today."

Calvillo said it was a chance to share the Alouettes Grey Cup win with others.

"The big thing is to see the kids and the adults act like kids when they see it for the first time. It's like they won it themselves, and that's what it's all about," he said.

The quarterback faced questions from students about the big win and about his upcoming personal challenges.

"Do you really have cancer?" asked one youngster.

"Do I have cancer? I don't know yet. I'm going to find out soon enough. I had to go to the doctor this morning. I'm going to have surgery on Thursday and we'll find out.," he said.

Calvillo announced after the Grey Cup win last month that he has a lesion on his throat.
