Cap Chat, a picturesque town known for its farms, hills, boats and windmills was the site of a grisly discovery Wednesday when a body was discovered in the Cap Chat River.

The body was that of Jean-Guy St. Pierre, 72, who had gone missing from the town of 3,000 nearly one week prior.

Family members identified the man after he was found around 4 p.m.in the town around 700 km northeast of Montreal.

St. Pierre, who had difficulty walking, left his home for his customary walk in the woods on August 15 but left without his wallet or glasses.

His wife reported him missing soon after.

A major search of the area, which involved a helicopter, failed to find him.
