A housekeeper on the south shore made a disturbing discovery Sunday when she found the bodies of a man and girl inside a hotel room.
The drama started around one o'clock, when the housekeeper entered a room at the Best Western on Taschereau and found the body of a man lying on the floor.
Police and emergency workers rushed to the hotel, and once inside the room they found the body of a girl, somewhere between 5 and 10 years old, lying in a bed.
Both bodies were taken to hospital, and according to Longueuil police officer Gaetan Durocher they hope autopsies will reveal more clues.
"You have to understand we just started the investigation. It's really too soon to establish what caused both deaths," said Durocher.
Police say they are still trying to identify the man and child.
But until they get the autopsy results, they really can't make any progress in the case.
