Pierre Barnoti, the former executive director of the Montreal SPCA, was back in court Wednesday in an ongoing legal battle with his former employer.
The Montreal SPCA is seeking an injunction against Barnoti.
The animal welfare group alleges that Barnoti illegally took over the SPCA's web address for his personal benefit.
The website is called www.spca.com and it has links to animal care, animal adoptions and links on how to donate money.
The Montreal SPCA says it wants the domain name back.
Barnoti's claim
Barnoti claims that he registered the web site legally, with the full consent of his former board of directors.
"The documents are in front of the judge and I will let the judge decide," Barnoti told CTV News.
"She (the judge) will be able to judge properly whether the domain name was transferred to me or not.
Arguments in the case continue on Friday.
Barnoti is suing the SPCA for wrongful dismissal and is also suing CTV for defamation after a series of reports on the shelter.
