One year doesn't seem to be long enough to fix an embarrassing road construction gaffe that made national headlines last year.

A pole left standing in the middle of what was a newly widened St. Elzear Blvd. in Laval is still there.

The city says it's still working with Hydro Quebec to develop underground lines, at which point it will be removed.

Four poles were originally left embedded in the road. Only one is left.

Still, business owners are fed up.

They say people have gotten accustomed to avoiding the street altogether.
