MONTREAL- The gruesome murder of a Cote-des-Neiges man sometime in the past week saw a torso stuffed into a suitcase, limbs mailed across the country and headlines at the top of nearly every newspaper.
The main suspect is Luka Magnotta, an attention-seeking porn star with a history of filming himself torturing cats, an unexplained relationship with Karla Homolka and now a possible international flight away from Canadian law enforcement.
The story, stranger than faction, has led many to question how someone could commit such a crime.
"We are dealing with a person who would be extremely narcissistic and on the psychopathic scale would be […] at 22, which is the highest level. In other words, he would be a psychopath who would take pleasure out of torturing or having the impression of having power over a powerless individual," said clinical psychologist Pierre Faubert.
"This person has the ability and intention to kill, and that is where the criminal element is."
