Several city of Montreal facilities remain open for Thanksgiving Monday while, in general, municipal and borough offices, service points and Accès Montreal offices are closed.

Arenas, swimming pools, sports centres, libraries and cultural centres follow varied schedules set by their respective boroughs. Residents are asked to consult borough websites via the main city portal or to call the city’s information line by dialing 311 or 514-872-0311.

Borough garbage, recycling and bulky item collections will take place according to their normal schedules, except the collection of bulky items in Cote des Neiges – NDG, which is cancelled.

Ecocentres will be open according to regular schedule.

Federal and provincial government offices are closed, as are banks are closed and the municipal court.

All parking meters will remain in operation and all parking signs must be respected.

Canada Post offices will be closed. There will be no regular mail delivery or collection.

STM buses and metros will operate on a holiday schedule.

AMT: The Vaudreuil-Hudson commuter train line will be shut down this weekend for repairs to the infrastructure. An alternate bus service will run on the Sunday schedule.

There will be no service Thanksgiving Monday on the Candiac, Mont St. Hilaire or Mascouche lines. Trains on the Deux Montagnes line will run on a Sunday schedule and the St. Jerome line trains will run on a weekend schedule.

Laval and Longueuil public transit will run on Saturday schedules.

Most retail supermarkets and stores are open, but business hours may vary.

SAQ stores are open, except for those found inside malls that are closed.

Montreal's public markets, such as the Atwater, Jean Talon and Maisonneuve markets are open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Information: 514 937-7754.

The Pointe-à-Callière museum will be closed.

The Planetarium will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Biodome will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Botanical Garden and Insectarium will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Claude Robillard sports complex is closed, but its outdoor tennis courts will be open.
