Firefighters from several communities are battling a warehouse fire in the south shore community of Delson.
The fire began some time after 9 a.m. at 42 Beauvais St., in an industrial park near Highways 132 and 42.
Someone working at a nearby store spotted the fire and called 9-1-1.
The smoke billowing from the fire is heavy and black, but Delson's fire department says it is not considered an environmental threat.
There are reports, as yet unconfirmed, that the warehouse stores tires.
Nobody has been injured, and no evacuations have been ordered.
Delson fire crews asked for assistance in putting out the fire, so crews from neighbouring communities rushed to help out.
