Police have surrounded a home on Gouin Blvd. near 56th Ave. and evacuated several nearby homes.
Since 1:30 a.m. Wednesday they have been dealing with a man wanted for attacking his partner, but who is refusing to talk to officers and has locked himself in an apartment.
Officers believe the man is armed with a gun and so they evacuated residents from nearby homes in Pointe Aux Trembles.
As of 8 a.m. police were still trying to negotiate with the man without much success.
