Bono, the shades-sporting U2 front man will have half a year to recover from a recent bicycle mishap in New York before hitting the stage at the Bell Centre June 12 and 13.
The Irish rock band’s iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE tour kicks off on May 14 in Vancouver and unlike their recent outdoor concert swings, the next tour entails only indoor shows.
Tickets go on sale Monday.
U2 will perform four nights in New York and Los Angeles as well as two nights in San Jose Phoenix, Chicago and Boston before hitting Europe in the fall of 2015.
This week Chris Martin and Bruce Springsteen replaced the ailing Bono in a surprise concert in Times Square in New York.
The band’s most recent album “Songs of Innocence” was released on September 9 after being first offered for free on iTunes.
U2 last played Montreal in 2011 when they performed in a makeshift outdoor stadium at the former Blue Bonnets racetrack site.
