MONTREAL - Police have arrested two suspects in the beating death of 21-year-old Dave Bonsant on a weekend group trip to Saguenay.
The victim was found beaten to death behind a bar in Jonquiere Sunday morning at about 3 a.m.
Witnesses said that prior to the grisly discovery, Bonsant had been involved in a disagreement with other patrons inside a bar along the lively strip in Jonquiere.
Bonsant, seen here in this video tribute posted Sunday on YouTube, was visiting the Saguenay region for the weekend.
Two 19-year-old male suspects, also from the south shore, were arrested Sunday evening. Both appeared in front of a judge by teleconference call and one was freed on the promise to appear in court at a later date.
The other will face a judge in Chicoutimi Tuesday or Wednesday on charges of second-degree murder.
