'Tis the season to celebrate, and they were doing just that at Concordia University recently.

Jews, Muslims, Zen Buddhists and faithful from a variety of other religions joined Christians at the university's Loyola Church to share their beliefs.

"It's an opportunity to celebrate the different holidays and holy days that are happening this time of year," said Ellie Hummel, chaplain and coordinator of the multi-faith chaplaincy.

While Hanukkah has ended, the spirit of celebration continues, said one rabbi.

"Hanukkah is called the festival of light, so the light has been ignited so the job now is to take that light and spread it all around," said Rabbi Yisroel Bernath.

Muslims aren't currently marking a traditional holiday, but are celebrating nonetheless.

Everyday that a Muslim lives in harmony with god with lord, creation… that's a celebration, said Mohammad Hyjazie, Thaqalayn Muslim Association.

Faithful from other religious and spiritual groups attended as well.

Buddhists, members the Baha'i faith, and celebrators of Kwanza were also on hand.
