Parents, check your fridges and pantry shelves – the Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a recall of a re-sealable baby food and a children’s snack due to fears of spoilage.

The products in question are re-sealable squeeze pouches of Heinz "Apple, broccoli, pea and brown rice" baby food, as well as Mott’s Fruitsations Fruit Rockets in the “Apple Strawberry Fruit Blend” flavour.

They’re being recalled due to concerns over broken seals which can lead to spoilage. The products were sold across the country.

The Mott’s products were sold individually in 90-gram packages, UPC code 0 65912 00019 7 and in four packs, UPC code 0 65912 00020 0. The Heinz baby food was sold in 128-millilitre packages, UPC code 0 57000 02990 6.

The CFIA is warning against consuming any of the recalled products. Parents should monitor children who have eaten any of the products for symptoms such as upset stomach, vomiting and diarrhea.

The recall comes after a consumer complained about one of the products.

There have been no reported illnesses.
