MONTREAL - A video posted on the internet Thursday portraying a young man resisting arrest  in Montreal had apparently been viewed over 230,000 times within a few hours of its appearance.

The video, entitled "Haitian Teen Takes On 2 Montreal Canada Police After Being Stopped For Walking On The Street! (Claims He Was Being Profiled.. Over-Policing)" was posted onto Worldstarhiphop.com

It appears to be an edited version of another video posted on YouTube.

No other context is provided but the scenes show two police officers attempting to arrest a young man for a reason that is not made clear in the video or the description.

A Montreal police media representative contacted Thursday night said that he had no information concerning the event.

The young man is seen resisting the police for several minutes, while several others mill about nearby, including a young girl who asks a female police officer to lift her up during the fracas.

Eventually, back-up officers show up and the young man eventually relents and is taken away.

Those who commented on the video are divided between those who side with the young man and many others who are more partial to the police. Several suggested that police officers in the United States would have been more aggressive under the same circumstances.
