Earlier this month, more than 230 Mormons gathered at Complexe Desjardins to spread a little Christmas spirit.

Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints organized a holiday flash mob, an event where a group of people come together in a seemingly random location and perform a song or dance.

They sang a selection of classic Christmas carols in French.

Organizers say the event was put together partly to dispel stereotypes about Mormons, like the ones they say take centre stage in the satirical musical The Book of Mormon, which ended a six-day run at Place des Arts Dec. 7.
