Human bones found at a Laval construction site are likely connected to a 2014 missing person's case, according to police.

Police said information from the case leads them to believe there is not a criminal element involved.

A construction worker discovered the bones Wednesday morning while walking across the terrain south of Highway 440, east of Highway 13, where a new health complex is being constructed.

A lab test determined the bones are human.

Also found on the site were women's clothing, including a coat, boots and a purse or bag.

The major crimes unit was called to the scene, where a search spanning hours included the use of a sniff.

Teeth from the bones will be compared to dental records from the missing person's case, with results expected to take between a week and a month.
