Former Parti Quebecois finance critic Francois Legault has taken a bid to launch a new political group in Quebec to YouTube.

In a video, Legault appears alongside Quebec businessman and traditional Liberal supporter, Charles Sirois, confirming the launch of La coalition pour l'avenir du Quebec.

Described as an "initiative" and not a party, the coalition of professors, business leaders and politicians' manifesto was leaked to media this week.

Among other things it calls for more investment in education.

Legault, who also served as PQ education minister, plans to present the document Monday.
