The American battery giant Energizer is closing its Notre-Dame St. plant by 2017, resulting in 430 job losses.
The layoffs will be rolled out progressively.
The plant was sold to Energizer by Johnson & Johnson one year ago.
It produces feminine hygiene products and has been in operation since 1947.
