Police on the south shore are waiting for the results of blood tests before they recommend charges in a single-vehicle crash.

Around 1:20 a.m. Tuesday a 25-year-old man driving west hit a car parked near the corner of Ste. Foy Blvd. and Labelle St. in Old Longueuil.

The parked car was badly damaged, with the rear half of the car crumpling all the way to the driver's seat as it was pushed several metres.

The driver was taken to hospital to be treated for his non-life-threatening injuries.

His car was also destroyed by the crash, with the front end buckling and both front doors crumpling under the impact.

Police closed the intersection until 6 a.m. while they examined the scene.

Another so-called minor crash took place overnight on the Decarie Expressway. Around 11:15 p.m. the front end of a car was destroyed in a crash.

Witnesses speculated that someone had thrown something off the Cote St. Luc Rd. overpass, but police would not confirm that supposition.
