A six-year-old boy is in critical condition after he collided with a truck while riding his bicycle in the Southwest borough.

Montreal police say it appears the 44-year-old driver was exiting an alley on Biencourt St. heading toward Eadie St. around 11 :40 a.m. Sunday when the incident occurred.

The boy was riding on Biencourt when he collided with the vehicle. Police said he may not have been wearing a helmet.

The boy was transported to hospital. Police fear he may not survive.

The driver was in a state of shock and was also taken to hospital. Neither alcohol nor speed are considered factors in the collision.
