Ste. Justine hospital is asking people to avoid its emergency room until Thursday evening.
The hospital is in the middle of moving very young patients to a new wing.
As a result people should go to a clinic, or another hospital's ER.
In October the hospital opened a new seven-storey building with a research centre, 11 operating rooms, and 261 more beds, including 80 neonatal care beds.
