The Archbishop of Rimouski, Msgr. Pierre-Andre Fournier, died Saturday at the Rimouski regional hospital. He was 71 years old.
He had been experiencing heart problems and had undergone bypass surgery in mid-December.
Fournier was the president of the Assembly of Quebec Catholic Bishops and an outspoken critic of Quebec’s euthanasia bill.
