Longueuil police arrested 12 people on Wednesday in connection with a drug ring.

Police say the ring served as a replacement for the Hells Angels network which had been dismantled in several previous raids.

Those arrested are expected to appear in Longueuil court Tuesday afternoon to face charges of drug trafficking, possession of drugs and weapons possession.

Sixty officers took part in the raids which were carried out in Carignan, St. Hubert, St. Bruno and Mont St. Hillaire, among other locations.

Police did not provide details on exactly what was seized, but did say previous raids they seized 24 kilos of cocaine, five firearms and $600,000.
