Multiple buildings were evacuated Tuesday morning after a suspicious package was left outside a store in NDG.
Around 10:40 a.m. people showing up to work on Monkland Ave. at Coronation Ave., near Concordia University's Loyola campus, noticed a strange package outside their workplace.
They called 9-1-1 and police cordoned off the area, ordering people living in buildings near the intersection to leave their homes.
Sherbrooke St. and Monkland Ave. were blocked off for a few blocks in either direction while police officers brought in the Emergency Response Team.
Coronation was blocked from Monkland Ave. to Terrebonne Ave.
Several hours later, police said the SWAT team was able to determine the package was fake.
The streets were reopened.
