Pamela Porter, wife of MUHC former superhospital chief Arthur Porter, was rearrested Wednesday and will remain behind bars until the end of her trial.
Porter was arrested again Wednesday morning after allegedly using money earned through the proceeds of crime to pay her $250,000 bail in 2013, the UPAC anti-corruption squad announced.
The 54-year-old faces a new charge of money laundering as Quebec's anti-corruption unit alleges some of the money used to secure her bail came from proceeds linked to alleged fraud of $22.5 million.

Porter was extradited from Panama in June 2013 to face charges of conspiring with her husband to launder the proceeds of crime.
She was released on bail in August 2013 but is now back in custody on the new charges.
“Her lawyer has waived her right to bail and he also consented and agreed that the bail conditions on the other file that means that Mrs. Porter will remain in custody until the end of the proceedings,” said Crown prosecutor Marie-Helene Giroux.
Porter turned herself in to SQ provincial police headquarters to await an appearance at Montreal court.
She will next appear in court on Sept. 15.
Currently, a preliminary hearing in her case is only expected in March 2015. Porter is seeking to speed up court proceedings.
Her husband Arthur Porter remains detained in Panama and has been fighting extradition to Canada.
