Sarah Hauptman, one of several teenagers staying in a Laval group home who ran away, has been located.
Sarah was staying Monday to Friday at the group home and going back to her parents' house on weekends.
Last Sunday she disappeared, climbing out her bedroom window before her parents woke up.
During the week several other teenagers staying at the group home went missing and all were located.
Laval police called Sarah's parents at 1:40 a.m. Monday to tell them she had been found and was in good health.
"All I can say is that she was out of the province. That's the confirmation that I got that she was out of the province," said Eric Hauptman
"This is what we were most scared of, that she was out of town and out of the province."
The Hauptmans spoke to their daughter Monday morning, and were planning to see her later in the day.
Hauptman could not say more for fear of interfering with a police investigation.
Last week the Hauptmans said their daughter has a history of running away from home, which is why she had been placed in the group home.
They are now hoping the rules will be changed so that the residents of the group home are under tighter supervision, and no longer free to come and go as they please.
With five runaways from that home in one week, Laval police are concerned that pimps are targeting girls who live there.
Laval police issued another missing person notice Monday afternoon for Vanessa Tico, who went missing from the same group home.
Insp. Alain Meilleur said last week there is evidence that some of the missing girls were targeted by gangs that want to sexually exploit the girls.
On Monday Public Security Minister Martin Coiteux was scheduled to meet with police to discuss the high number of runaways from the Laval group home, and what can be done to prevent pimps from luring the girls into prostitution.
