The teachers’ union at John Abbott College has voted 89 per cent in favour of a six-day strike.
The union at the Ste. Anne de Bellevue CEGEP voted on the mandate at a general assembly meeting Monday evening.
No strike date has been set.
Teachers at Cegep St. Laurent have also voted overwhelmingly in favour of a strike, with 91.6 per cent rejecting the provincial government's offer of a two-year salary freeze followed by a one per cent per year pay hike over three years.
Their plan is to join with other common front members in a general strike this fall.
Members say they’re not happy with the government’s demands for salary, retirement, job security, professional autonomy, parental leaves, access to leaves, workload and union rights.
Teachers at Vanier and Dawson colleges will hold strike votes within the next week.
