Snow on the way as Montreal is under weather advisory

Share

A weather advisory has been issued for the Greater Montreal area, with 10 to 15 cm of snow expected to hit the ground.

Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) says the snow is expected to start late Monday into Tuesday morning in southern Quebec, including the Montreal, Montérégie, Lanaudière, Laurentians, Outaouais, Mauricie, Centre-du-Québec and Eastern Townships regions.

"Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions," the ECCC notes. "Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. If you must drive, be prepared for areas of poor visibility."

Temperatures on Monday are expected to hit a high of minus eight but will feel more like minus 19 with the wind chill.

ECCC says the snow is expected to end early Tuesday morning, giving way to a mix of sun and cloud.

Temperatures are expected to be steady near minus nine, with wind chill closer to minus 17.
