MONTREAL - Fans of the Montreal Alouettes eagerly greeted the returning champions Monday night.

The team flew into Trudeau airport to a chorus of cheers from CFL fans, who were impressed to see players strolling through the lobby with the fabled Grey Cup hoisted in air.

The trip to the airport has become a tradition for many, especially with the Alouettes making eight trips to the CFL final in the past 11 years.

The next step: Wednesday's parade down Ste. Catherine Street.

Members of the team will sign a register at Montreal City Hall Wednesday morning, then proceed to their second parade in a year.

The parade is scheduled to kick off at 11:40 a.m. at the corner of Crescent St., then proceed west along Ste. Catherine St. It will then turn north along Bleury before turning west on de Maisonneuve and finishing at the Place des Festivals.
