A 56-year-old woman was killed at about 8:15 a.m. Tuesday when she was hit by a car while riding on the section of a bike path in Brossard that crosses busy Matte Blvd.
The intersection is equipped with traffic lights to help ferry bicycles safetly across but it’s unclear whether the cyclist or driver, aged in his twenties, went against a light.
The cyclist was taken to hospital where she died of her injuries.
The driver was also taken to hospital to be treated for shock.
