Police say they have found a body in Roxton Pond that they believe to be that of Daniel Masse, the man suspected of shooting three people in Marieville.

The body was found late this afternoon in a black Jetta.

The SQ says two men are dead and another was critically injured in the incident, which took place about 45 kilometers east of Montreal. The injured man is expected to survive. Another person is being considered a fourth victim, someone who police say was "targeted" but who wasn't shot or injured.

Police would not say anything about a possible motive and would not reveal if there was any link between Masse and the victims.

Residents reported hearing gunshots in the area of a scrapyard near the intersection of De la Branche du Rapide and Chemin Trente-Six Rds. around 6 p.m. Wednesday evening. Police were called to the scene and began the manhunt for the shooter.

Police used night vision goggles to try and locate the suspect overnight. Thursday morning, a police helicopter was out scouring the area and dogs were out helping the tactical squad.
