Commuter-train service appears to be returning to normal after major problems last week.
On Monday there were some delays and one cancelled train and overcrowding.. but nothing like last week where mechanical and other problems were the norm, coincidentally as beefed up service took effect.
Mea culpa
On Sunday the head of the Agence Metropolitaine de Transport apologized and promised to solve the problems and improve service.
The agency is laying some of the blame on CN and CP rail, who manage the rail lines and maintain the trains.
The AMT say it will be sending inspectors into the maintenance shops and it will soon add more cars to its busiest commuter trains to ease overcrowding.
