It may officially be spring, but let’s face it everyone – this is Canada, after all. Winter doesn’t go down without a fight.

The Montreal area, the Monteregie and the Eastern Townships were expecting up to 15 centimetres of snowfall Saturday.

For those of you fed up of the wintry weather, feel free to blame a low pressure system moving eastward toward Maine for your discontent.

But, as the Environment Canada weather warning whimsically points out, not everyone will be upset by the abundance of fresh powder.

“Skiers will appreciate this new snow that will give them hours of fun on the slopes,” the warning reads.

And this (hopefully) final blast of snow has also produced a more unusual casualty: the home opener for the Montreal Impact, which was supposed to happen Saturday but has been postponed until Sunday afternoon.
