Quebec’s tax department is claiming over $3.3 million from a pair of construction companies and their directors, while 360 charges have been laid following an investigation into tax fraud.

Revenu Quebec has filed 24 charges against Pierre Guay and Denis Chabot and 9171-3917 Québec inc., claiming minimum fines of over $490,000 per accused.

Meanwhile 96 charges were laid against Pierre Guay, Yves Chabot and 9096-9890 Québec inc., charges which call for minimum fines of nearly $620,000 per accused.

The two companies are accused of falsifying tax reports and claiming tax credits and refunds between 1 June 2008 and 27 October 2011.

Pierre Guay, Denis Chabot and Yves Chabot are accused of involvement in the offenses, as they were directors of the companies involved.
