Montreal police are investigating the suspicious death of a man found in an east end apartment.
Around 11:30 p.m. Monday, police showed up at an apartment on Ste. Catherine St. East, near Joliette Rd., to investigate a report of a missing person.
They entered the apartment and found the body of a man in his late fifties. The officers on the scene said it appeared the man had been dead for some time.
An autopsy will be scheduled to determine whether the man died of natural causes or through some other means.
Police said the building where the body was found is known as a criminal hotspot where many people traffic and abuse drugs.
