Quebec's rental board has come up with its recommendations for rent increases.
This year the board is recommending minimal increases depending on what is used to heat an apartment.
Just 1.1 percent if a home uses electricity or natural gas, and 0.6 percent if it's heated with oil.
The rental board's suggestions are just guidelines and landlords are able to ask for more rent, especially if upgrades have been made.
