Quebec singer, author and TV host Suzanne Lapointe has died at the age of 80.
Lapointe first came to the spotlight as TV host of La poule aux oeufs d'or in 1959 and may be best known for the variety show Les demons du midi, which she co-hosted with the late Gilles Latulippe.
She also penned a number of popular cookbooks in the 1970s and 1980s.
Lapointe was a breast cancer survivor and dedicated much effort to raising awareness for the cause.
Lapointe was inducted into the Order of Canada in 2009.
Lapointe, who was born in Montreal, died Friday morning at her home in the Laurentians.
