Genevieve Sabourin, the Quebec actress accused of stalking actor Alec Baldwin, is still talking to media even though her trial kicked off Thursday in Manhattan.

Sabourin, who is from the South Shore town of Candiac, is accused of flooding Baldwin with passionate messages imploring him to marry her. She is also accused of going to Baldwin’s New York home uninvited.

There were no court proceedings on Friday but Sabourin gave a lengthy, freewheeling interview in French with Montreal’s Radio X in which she said, “I have no chance of winning, I’ve known it from day one, I’ve said it all along, I’ve asked the Canadian Embassy, the Quebec Delegate General, nobody ever called me back. “

She said that she is staying in a summer camp about three-and-a-half-hours away from the courthouse and drives seven hours a day to attend her trial.

Montreal headlines Friday brought attention to emails that she allegedly sent to Baldwin, complete with such phrases as, “I dream of making a mini-Baldwin with you.”

She refused to discuss the contents of those emails when interviewed on radio, although she did not deny that she wrote them.

“I found it extremely painful when it was read in court and I don’t plan to go through that twice. It’s public humiliation, it’s abuse. I don’t think it’s news,” she said.

She claimed that the embarrassing emails were read in court as an attempt to embarrass her into accepting an out-of-court settlement.

Sabourin is expected to testify Tuesday and will likely argue that she was not advised of any restrictions limiting where she was permitted to go, even though police had all of her contact information and could have informed her at any time.

“It would have been easy for them to contact me and ask to meet me and proceed in a respectful way,” she said. “It’s an abusive arrest.”

Sabourin’s lawyer Todd Spodek has claimed that Baldwin had a decade-long relationship with Sabourin after they met in 2002 on the set of The Adventures of Pluto Nash, a box office disaster filmed in Montreal.

Sabourin is listed as unit publicist for the Eddie Murphy film, while Baldwin had a small uncredited role as a character named M.Z.M.

The friendship between Sabourin and Baldwin turned sexual in 2010, according to Spodek.

Baldwin has told detectives that their relationship had been strictly professional.

Sabourin was arrested in New York City in April 2012.
