Search crews in Nepal are still trying to locate Dominque Ouimet, a cardiologist who was lost when an avalanche swept over Mount Manaslu.

Rescuers have so far recovered the bodies of eight people and rescued about 10 others.

There are concerns that the mountain was overcrowded, which explorer Bernard Voyer says may have contributed to the slide.

"We estimate that 230 climbers, but not on the same place on the same spot, but 235 climbers on a route is quite crowded," said Voyer.

He has climbed Mt. Everest, and said the danger of an avalanche can arise quite quickly.

"This mountain, Manaslu is well known about avalanches. It's very dangerous, and this is a good season to climb but the last day, there is supposed to have some snowfall, and with snowfall and with warm sun, the snow becomes heavier, and it can slide down," said Voyer.
