A 23-year-old man is dead after losing control of his motorcycle on the Bonaventure Expressway in Montreal around midnight.

The man died after his motorcycle slammed into a cement wall while he was heading towards the Champlain Bridge near Wellington St.

Another motorist following behind was unable to avoid him and also suffered injury in the incident although he is expected to recover.

Excessive speed is believed to be a possible cause of the incident.

The victim was not officially identified, but following the accident, a series of online posts mourned the loss of a young man named Harpal Sanghera.
