MONTREAL - Montreal will share the wisdom it gained from hosting the Olympics and other international sporting events, as Manon Barbe flies to Switzerland to a conference in Lausanne, Switzerland this weekend.

The meeting of the World Union of Olympic Cities aims to promote international sporting events and Barbe, who handles the recreation and international sports dossier for Mayor Tremblay’s Executive Committee, is expected to share her expertise on Montreal’s experience in international sports.

The city hopes that the conference will help strengthen links to other countries within the International Olympic committee as well as other members of the World Union of Olympic Cities.

The conference aims to expose the positive impact that such international sporting tournaments leave on the health of local host populations.

The Montreal contingent is also angling to attract other sporting competitions to the city.
